Ensuring Educational Equity: Andhra Pradesh’s Initiative for Free Private School Admissions under RTE Act

Introduction

Education is the foundation of a progressive society. Recognizing this, the Indian Constitution through the Right to Education (RTE) Act, 2009, mandates free and compulsory education for children between the ages of 6 and above. A vital provision under the RTE Act requires private unaided schools to reserve 25% of their seats for students from economically weaker sections and disadvantaged groups.

In this regard, the Government of Andhra Pradesh has taken a pioneering step to ensure that even the poorest families can access high-quality private education, thereby bridging the gap between privilege and poverty.

విద్యా అవకాశ సమానత్వాన్ని సాధించడమే అభివృద్ధి చెందిన సమాజానికి పునాది . భారత రాజ్యాంగం 2009 నాటి విద్యా హక్కు చట్టం ద్వారా 6 ,6 కంటే ఎక్కువ   సంవత్సరాల మధ్య పిల్లలకు ఉచిత విద్యను మరియు బాధ్యతాయుత విద్యను హామీ ఇస్తుంది. దీనిలో భాగంగా ప్రైవేట్ స్కూల్స్ లో 25% సీట్లు పేదలకు ,సామాజికంగా వెనుకబడిన వర్గాల పిల్లలకు కేటాయించాల్సి ఉంటుంది. ఆంధ్రప్రదేశ్ ప్రభుత్వం ఈ విధానాన్ని విజయవంతంగా అమలు చేస్తోంది.

Andhra Pradesh’s Efforts: Free Admission to Private Schools

The Andhra Pradesh government, under this national mandate, has implemented mechanisms to operationalize free admissions in private schools for BPL children. Through a centralized online portal, parents can apply for their children’s admission into reputed private schools without any fee.

ఆంధ్రప్రదేశ్ ప్రభుత్వం ప్రత్యేకంగా ఆన్‌లైన్ ద్వారా దరఖాస్తు ప్రక్రియను ప్రవేశపెట్టింది. పేద కుటుంబాలకు ప్రైవేట్ స్కూళ్లలో నాణ్యమైన విద్యను ఉచితంగా అందించడమే లక్ష్యంగా పెట్టుకుంది.

What is the Eligibility Criteria

• • Children whose parents hold a BPL (Below Poverty Line) card, ( RICE CARD )
  • విద్యార్ధి యొక్క తల్లితండ్రులు బియ్యం కార్డు కలిగి ఉండాలి

• • Children belonging to SC, ST, OBC, OC, minorities, or differently-abled categories.
  • విద్యార్ధి ఎస్సీ, ఎస్టీ, ఓబీసీ, మైనారిటీలు మరియు దివ్యాంగులు కేటగిరీకి చెందినవారు అయినచో అప్లై చేసుకొను  అవకాశం ఉంటుంది

• Age criteria: Children must be in between the above dates as mentioned above (primarily for admission into Class 1).
• వయస్సు : విద్యార్ధికి పైన తెలిపిన విధంగా  ఉండాలి,  

How to Apply – Application Process

The process for availing free admission under the RTE Act in Andhra Pradesh is simple and user-friendly:

2. Register using basic details of the child and parent.

తల్లి మరియు తండ్రి , విద్యార్ధి యొక్క ఆధార్ కార్డు , బియ్యం కార్డు , మొబైల్ నెంబర్ ద్వారా నమోదు చేసుకోగలరు

3. 3.   అప్లై చేసుకొనుటకు కావలసిన డాకుమెంట్లు :

1. 1. • • Birth Certificate ( జనన ధృవీకరణ పత్రం )
        • Rice Card ( బియ్యం కార్డు )
        • Caste Certificate (if applicable) ( కుల దృవీకరణ పత్రం )
        • Disability Certificate (if applicable) ( దివ్యాంగుల సర్టిఫికేట్ )
        • Aadhar Card (ఆధార్ కార్డు )

4.Choose preferred schools available in your locality in 1 km and 3 km if there is no schools in 1 km range from your secretariat.

  మొదటిగా మీకు 1 కి మీ పరిధిలో గల స్కూల్స్ కనిపిస్తాయి, ఒకవేళ 1 కి మీ పరిధిలో స్కూల్స్ రాకపోతే 3 కి మీ పరిధి ఓపెన్ అవుతుంది
